Project note

Product onboarding and support voice

Use one real instruction from the product. That tells you more than a demo sentence.

Two reads

Try the actual instruction.

Short-form

Derek

Derek is firmer and faster. He fits an update better than a routine click-by-click tour.

Use a line with a product name or date in the test.

Screen order

Write what happens, in order.

  1. 01

    One action

Say the click, field, or choice in its own sentence.

  2. 02

    The wait

If the screen loads or a job runs, say that before the next instruction.

  3. 03

    The check

Tell the viewer what should be visible when the step worked.

The missed step

Say the recovery out loud.

Explain what happens when the button is missing, blocked, or in the wrong place. Do not bury that part in a caption.

Keep the ID with the screen recording and script.
